Weekly Stats Recap

This week’s Stat Study was done with the intention to determine the impact of playing a back to back in terms of total shooting percentage (TS%) and turnover rate (TOR). To understand this study, one must be familiar with these metrics. Total shooting percentage created a total metric of shooting accuracy looking at three-pointers, two-pointers and free throws. Turnover rate is a simple tally of the percentage of possessions that end in a turnover. … Continue reading
Weekly Stats Recap

This week, thanks to the suggestion of David Vertsberger (@_Verts), I decided to take a look at the top assist men on each team and how they contributed to each game this week in terms of percentage of total points scored (PS%) and percentage of total assists handed out (A%). I constructed a spread sheet that detailed the top dime dropper on each roster along with the PS% and A% for that player entering … Continue reading
Video Playbook: George Karl’s ‘enver Nuggets

While their fast pace may not translate into postseason success, there are few teams that are more entertaining to watch on offense than the Denver Nuggets. George Karl has transitioned as a coach, moving on from his days as a defensive-minded manager to a transition offense wizard in his old age. Game of the Week: Christmas Extravaganza

That’s why Christmas is a close, close second, and it easily beats out Thanksgiving when it comes to viewing pleasure. The NBA has lovingly provided us with 12 hours of … Continue reading

The second-year point guard was terrific in his return from a finger injury and his … Continue reading
Weekly Stat Recap

This week’s study was done to determine what position led the winning team in scoring with the most frequency. For all 53 games this week I recorded the position of the highest scoring player on the winning team and the percentage of his teams points he scored. I used ESPN’s box scores to determine what position each player qualified as. In a resounding 35.8% of the games this week, the winning team was led … Continue reading
